Definition
A measure relating to an age group. Age-specific rates are commonly calculated for fertility, mortality, marriage, marriage dissolution and abortion.

Example
Age-specific fertility rates are usually expressed in terms of the experience of women within each five-year age group (15–19, 20–24, 2529 years, etc.), or they can also be expressed in terms of single-year of age rates.
