Population Census

Definition
Provisional counts are an early indication of the census night population count. They are based on the number of questionnaires collected and an estimate of the number of questionnaires uncollected, about one month after census night. Provisional counts are available within three months of the census.

Final counts of the census night population count and the census usually resident population count are available within a year of the census. They are based on all the questionnaires collected and processed.
