What are Business Demographic Statistics (Business Patterns)?
Business Demographic Statistics provide information about characteristics of New Zealand business. This data has also been referred to as Business Patterns in our brochures.
Business Demographic Statistics are extracted from the Business Frame, a database of New Zealand businesses and their structure. The Business Frame is maintained by Statistics New Zealand. It is primarily used for selecting those businesses that are included in our business surveys.
Business Demographic Statistics are available as counts of data down to the meshblock ('city block') level. Information is released annually, with 2002 customised information available from October 2002.
