This report offers the first analysis of statistics collected in the 2001 Household Savings Survey. This report looks at:
- the distribution of net worth across the New Zealand population by demographic characteristics
- the type and value of assets held by non-partnered individuals and couples such as property, trusts, superannuation schemes, investments, businesses, farms and bank accounts
- the type and level of debt held by non-partnered individuals and couples in mortgages, credit cards, bank loans, and student loans
- the relationship between net worth, assets and debt.
