The 2002 edition continues this tradition, with text, graphs, tables and illustrations covering subjects from the geography and climate of New Zealand to our electoral system, employment, commerce and industry, as well as social and political change.

The theme for the 2002 Yearbook is the information society, reflecting the tremendous growth and convergence of information and communication technologies in recent years.
